10 things we loved at Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival for 2017

Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival is one of our favorite events of the entire year. Although I don’t drink much while I’m at Walt Disney World since I tend to travel with my daughter, we love trying the all new foods. It seems like every year Epcot is adding more and more booths. We didn’t get to try everything we wanted to, but we did try a lot and found some new favorites as well as some things we weren’t particularly thrilled about.

Here are 10 things from the Food and Wine Festival that we loved!

1.Chocolate Picante from Flavors of Fire in Future World West

A little spicy, a little sweet, dark chocolate lovers will enjoy this decadent treat with a bit of kick to it.

2.Loaded Mac N Cheese from Active Eats in Future World West

Let me start off by saying this- I like mac n cheese but I’m not like a mac n cheese fanatic. I can usually take it or leave it. But something about the mixture of the bacon, cheddar cheese and green onions made this dish simply fantastic.

3.Cauliflower Risotto from The Almond Orchard in the showcase Plaza

Cauliflower Risotto

I’ll admit I was hesitant for this and had no idea what to expect. It actually ended up being one of our favorites from the whole trip! If you love Parmesan Cheese, the balance of the Parmesan and Balsamic Vinegar on this dish is divine.

4. Warm Indian Bread from India

I love spicy food. I love garlic. And I love naan. That’s basically what this is. And its delicious.

5.Madras Red Curry from India

Sticking with the spicy theme, we loved this curry. That being said, if you don’t like curry, you probably won’t like this because, well….its curry.

6.Pistachio Cardamom Bundt Cake with Chocolate Coconut Mousse from India

Ok, ok, I know what you’re thinking, more from India? Seriously though, I liked everything we had from India and we actually had it all! This cake was soft, moist and just the right amount of sweet. It may look a little weird since its green, but hey, at least it makes for fun pictures!

7. Spicy Hummus Fries from MoroccoHummus Fries

These were actually probably one of my favorites from the entire festival. If you like Falafel, then you’ll like these. They remind me of that exactly.

8.Beer Braised Beef with Smoked Gouda Mashed Potatoes from Belgium

Tell me something has Gouda in in and I’m there. The mashed potatoes were delicious and beef was plastic fork tender. If you’re a meat and potatoes kind of girl or guy, I highly recommend it.

9. Twinings Pumpkin Chai Tea and Caramel Shake from Ireland

So we got this last year and thought it was delicious and our opinion hasn’t changed at all since then. If you love Pumpkin and you love Chai, then you wont be disappointed with this. I personally could do without the little smashed up vanilla cookies on the top, but its light, refreshing and it comes in both non-alcoholic and alcoholic. We love having choices.

10. La Passion Martini Slush from FranceLa Passion Martini Slush

How can you go to the Food and Wine Festival and not try at least one pretty drink? Even if you can, we don’t think you should. The Martini Slush is light and the fact that its frozen helps a little when you consider the 105 degree heat indexes we were experiencing while we were there. And if you think this is just a girly drink, think again. I saw plenty of guys walking around with this in hand.

What did you guys love (or not love!) from this year’s festival? We’d love to hear from you!
